Jason Hawkins grew up in the mountains of western North Carolina. From an early age he was fascinated with history and old houses. This led him to a degree from the Savannah College of Art & Design and a love of painting. After moving to New Orleans, Jason began bartending at La Crepe Nanou, where he currently shows his paintings.

This delightful architectural “Steamboat House” confection is one of a pair built by the Doullut family in New Orleans’ Holy Cross neighborhood in 1905 and 1913.
