“My dolls all tell me who they are as I make them. It is simply beyond my control. . . and I am thankful to them for allowing me to be involved in their happenings.” — Christy Kane
Christy Kane graduated from NYU with a degree in photography. She creates, and then photographs her life size dolls to illustrate her stories. The smaller dolls all come with a description of why they are the way they are, and often tell you what to do to keep them happy. Her influences range from Silent Films, Hillaire Belloc’s Cautionary Tales for Children, all kinds of music, Edward Gorey, and the stories of E. T. A. Hoffman to name but a few.
